It can last for weeks on the shelf and a couple of months in the fridge.You can also store garlic for weeks or months. The key to keep garlic fresh for months is to keep it in your crisper drawer. Otherwise, this root vegetable will shrivel up before they are used for cooking. Even chopped garlic can last several weeks, just make sure to keep it in a tightly closed container.
